A journey through existential questions, youthful fire, and unfiltered reflection.

REFLECTIONS is a collection of poems and writings by Raul Treviño, exploring the depths of human emotions and existential themes. The book includes evocative imagery and powerful inquiries into life's fragility, as evidenced by the excerpt from “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,” which passionately emphasizes resistance against the inevitability of death. Treviño's work reflects a shattered yet introspective mind, capturing moments of reflection and defiance.
These poems were written between the ages of 18 and 29 and are very much in the mode of a young person, a budding poet and philosopher struggling to build an identity as an individual while fully engrossed in the artistic experience and writing about that as well as universal human themes.
I'll be adding the stories behind the poems in the gallery, although I am not pleased with myself for demystifying art. I will admit a narcissistic fear of being misinterpreted, and while I fully expect readers to have their own interpretation and experience when they read, it might be fun to see how it aligns with the inspiration.
